I participated in a sculpture workshop last year teached by sculptors from Zimbabwe.
Click here to watch 2 panoramas
Navigate to the next panorama using the next - previous link on the right/left.

The organiser setup a fund to support an orphanage in Zimbabwe.
At the moment you can show your support by bidding on various items on Ebay!
There are a lot of goodies from various famous people (here in Flanders / Belgium) including Tom Boonen, Club Brugge, Racing Genk, Tom Waes, de Joerie, ...

I know I've not posted for a while... so let this new design be a fresh start!

Finding a decent blogging/CMS was not easy.
I didn't trust Wordpress anymore because of the frequent updates (due to security), often very messy plugins and the mix of php and html in the templates. I've picked Movable Type because of the flexible template system, robust out of the box features and architecture after reading their upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 guide.

I still have to add a link section, tag all the old entries and tweak the design a bit.

The next move to MT will be my local VR site : VRNoeveren
Just a quick note to announce that VRAntwerp.com joined the 360cities.net network!
VRAntwerp is a project I started about one year ago featuring panoramic photography in and around Antwerp.
Antwerp is the second largest city in Flanders, Belgium.

My first IR panorama

What happens if you put a Lee 87 filter in the filter slot of the Nikon 10.5mm and take 360 degree panorama...
You don't see anything in the viewfinder and you end-up with an IR photo!

This is my first attempt. I was shooting into the sun so I bracketed (-2,0,+2) and used Photomatix to generate an HDR.
This is the result after tonemapping and a bit of smart sharpen in PS CS3 beta.

IR_Pano_Full.jpg

PS CS 3 has been released but...there are huge price difference between the US and Europe.

Click here to see the price differences and sign the petition!

I hope Adobe does something about this!
Otherwise I'll have to look for a good alternative...
I shouldn't be too difficult because I'm already using Raw Developer instead of Photoshop CS to convert my raw files, iView Pro, PTGui, CubicConvertor etc.

Feel free to advice me on a good image editor (for os x) with Photoshop plugin support and color management!

VRAntwerp in beta!

The last few months I've been working a website with vr photography about Antwerp (the second biggest city in Belgium, Europe) : VRAntwerp.com. A lot of work still needs to be done. Especially content, layout...

18 locations are online now with a total of 42 panoramas.

Click here to go to a map with the locations. You can click on the markers or select a location in the left menu.

Comments? Suggestions?
Contact me anytime. It's certainly a beta version so there will be bugs here and there.

WWP Transport

The results of the World Wide Panorama Transportation Event will be online very soon!

I've just submitted my entry!

It's an old machine to transport clay. The brick factory (Lauwers) will be closed in December 2006.
They still produce traditional bricks in a more or less manual way.
This region (Noeveren - Boom - Belgium) has been dominated by brick factories for centuries but at this time only 2 or 3 modern factories remain.

You can have a look on my VRNoeveren site for a few panoramas. I'll try to make the site available in English within a few months.

Let's travel the world using VR... Much more budget friendly (expect for the person who buys the equipment to make the images...)!

2 sites about the Middle East popped up on the Quicktime VR list :

Enjoy!

I'm back!

I haven't been blogging the last few months but that's going to change!

I've got a week off now and that's a good opportunity to finish and put some photos online + keep track of what's happening in the VR world.

Unfortunately I can't make it to the Panotools Meeting in Bath!
