Kekus, famous for PTMac, released a beta of a new automatic stitcher for Mac : Calico!
I've done a few tests and they are already rather good!
The automatic control point generation (SIFT) is fast (even on my G4 Powerbook), the interface is very clean and blending seems to be ok. This might be a "Stitcher Express" killer...
Similar automatic control point generation will be available in the new version of PTMac.
2006 seems to become a great year for panoramic software because since the new version of PTGui last year, Autopano Pro and now the upcoming PTMac 4, there is enormous progress in each of these programs.
I'm especially look forward to better automatic control points in PTMac and Autopano Pro for fish-eye lenses + everything to do around HDR/RAW support!
